This term in Kākano 2 we are so lucky to be having and helping Mrs Symes. Here is an introduction to Mrs Symes. She will be joining us in class for most of the term!
Kia Ora and welcome back! We hope everyone has had a safe and restful break. All of the teachers are looking forward to a busy and fun Term 4 with the children. Uniform Students are to start Term 4 in full summer uniform. Our Uniform Shop is open Mondays (8.30-9.00am), Wednesdays (2.30-3.00pm) & Fridays (8.30-9.00am) during term time. The girls’ summer dresses are currently only available from our school uniform shop. Please don’t forget children need to wear the school sun hats in term 4. We also sell school uniforms via our school website. You can order and pay online and pick up your uniform from the school reception after you have been notified by email that the uniform is ready to pick up. Hopefully, this will be easier for those parents who find it difficult to get to our uniform shop. Sunhats Sunhats are a part of the summer school uniform. 💥 Welcome back to another Term! 💥 We trust you all had a wonderful break even though the weather was not the best. School Production Term 3 will be a busy term with our school production happening during week 10. All Kākano children will have a part in our production “Little Red Rocking Hood” and over the next 8 weeks will learn a dance they will perform with their class. More information will be sent out about the production later in the term. Three Way Learning Conferences: Week 2 of this term is our termly Three Way Learning Conferences. Please see the attached information on how to book. A paper report will be sent home with your child at the end of this week. The Three Way Learning Conference is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s learning with the class teacher. We recommend children are present at these conferences as the children enjoy sharing their achievements with parents as well as setting new learning goals for the upco...
Welcome to all our Kākano families and friends! We hope you all had a lovely day with your families on Friday celebrating Matariki. We celebrated the Sacred Heart Mass in Church last Thursday and we all commented on how well-behaved the children were and how beautifully they sang during Mass. Although the mornings have been colder this week, it has been great for the children to be able to get outside during break times. Please make sure your child has a woollen jersey or polar fleece to put on when outside, as it can be a little chilly or windy. Assembly Kākano 2 are taking the assembly this week on Friday. Whānau and friends are welcome to come along! Assembly starts at 2:05pm Friday afternoon in the hall. This week we welcome Melissa Elvidge to the Kākano team as she is opening the new class (Kākano 8). This class will be in Room 11 (the classroom close to the astroturf).
